Room to breathe

A 17th-century farmhouse retreat in the heart of County Laois, where the Irish Midlands open out into gardens, quiet, and space to gather.

Fitz of Inch is a self-catering country house built for the people you want around you - whether that's a few friends or your entire extended family.

Just an hour from Dublin and 45 minutes from Kilkenny, we're easy to reach from anywhere in the country, yet far enough from the noise to feel like a proper escape.

Our Sustainability

  • Powered by the sun

We run on solar power and have moved our heating from oil to electric. It cuts our carbon footprint and brings us closer to the greener operation we're working towards.

  • Less paper, full stop

Guidebooks, leaflets and invoices are digital wherever we can manage it, and we reuse paper in the office. Anything we do print goes on recycled paper and card.

  • We check ourselves every year

Our Environmental Action Plan sets targets and we review progress against it annually. If you spot something we could do better, tell us.

  • Explore rural Ireland

The local guidebook has maps, and nature books to get you started. We work with local eco-tourism providers so there's always something worth walking to.

  • Reduce, reuse, repair

Three words that decide most of what we buy, keep and throw away. In practice it means repairing first, reusing second, and replacing only as a last resort.
